For years Ernst Theis
has worked closely with his personal dramaturge, Uwe Schneider. The partnership between him and Ernst Theis has given rise to new projects as well as consistent advancement of existing concepts. Examples include projects like Music on the Air (RadioMusiken) The Unknown Johann Strauss, the German Offenbach, Der FrauenministerIn
(politically satirical music theatre) and many more. Currently they turn their attention more to actual cultural developments. The result is the intensification of activities with contents, which are not of pure artistic nature an covers all steps of the creative process, from archival research to premiere, but isn’t limited to the area of concept development.
All other criteria that a production comprises, from concept and Interpretation to design and editing of program notes and CD booklets, to marketing strategies and publicity. This results in a creative design of unparalleled detail and congruency that threads itself through all aspects of production.
Born in 1965, Uwe Schneider
, M.A., studied Literature, Communication and Philosophy in Munich. He taught and did research at the Technical University in Dresden between 1993 and 2002 as an assistant professor at the Institute for New German Literature. Here he completed publications, working editions, databases and exhibitions in cultural studies while maintaining his scientific research. Uwe Schneider then worked as a journalist and music critic for the Sächsische Zeitung
and journals like klassik.com, Orpheus International, Crescendo, musicweb international,
and opera japonica
among others. He has written programmes for organisations like Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and the Northern German Broadcasting, for which he was also the concert dramaturge. In 2006-2007 he worked as the Public Relations and Marketing Manager in Dresden for the “Forum Tiberius” and developed his skills in cultural management. Uwe Schneider was Dramaturge of Media at the State Operetta Dresden and personal consultant to the Impresario from 2007 to 2012, where he also regularly holds scientific symposia. Since 2012 he has been a member of the leading team of the Akademie for Ancient Music, Berlin
