A very fine concert indeed took place at the beautiful, historic Fruchthalle in Kaiserslautern
. The soloists were soprano Anja-Nina Bahrmann
and tenor Mirko Roschkowski
, and the fact that these two are a good match personally as well as musically was clearly heard in their duets. Ernst Theis had put together a programme around vocal numbers from works by composers of the Strauss dynasty, which with his interpretation and the playing of the Deutschen Radiophilharmonie Saarbrücken/Kaiserslautern
made for a concert like one seldom hears. The first bravos were already being shouted during the applause for the evening’s first piece, and the critics likewise seemed quite taken with the artists’ performance this evening.
